Adaptive LED frequency control for optimal plant growth

Plant photosynthesis is strongly affected by the frequency spectrum of the applied light. The optimal spectrum may be depended on various factors such as plant type, growth stage, temperature, soil moisture, air humidity, CO2 concentration and more.

In this project the student will make an experimental setup with real plants and investigate the possibility of constructing an adaptive environment where the photosynthesis is estimated by measuring the consumption of CO2, and the frequencies of a LED array is automatically tuned to the most productive frequencies with respect to photosynthesis/watt. The project is soil based.
