Getting Started with Android Development

Here's some tips for getting started with Android app development!

-- Go get Android Studio (https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html) - it's the official IDE for Android development (based on IntelliJ IDEA) and let's you develop, build and run apps on devices as well as the Android emulator.

-- Get started with a few test apps (https://developer.android.com/training/index.html). The world of Android moves fast but the fundamentals are very accessible, there's lots of tutorials out there but the Android dev site is a good place to start!

-- Publish your app (https://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/start.html). You can develop and test Android apps for free and distribute the APK if you want, but it costs US$25 to publish apps on the Google Play store.
